VIRTUAL REALITY
A digital simulation of the real world. The most realistic form is immersed virtual reality where the user moves from being an observer to being a participant. This is a natural direction for the computer games industry to take.
VIRTUALISATION
A conceptual term that relates to driving down the costs of IT infrastructure. For example, where once there was one server per application, with virtualisation all applications could run off one server. Users will be unaware of the change, however the IT function now only has to support one server.
